As part of the NHS response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made changes to the services we provide
Wellbeing Matters is located at the Wellbeing Centre in Tamworth (Beauchamp Road, B77 5HP) but we work across Burntwood, Lichfield and Tamworth. Our therapists work in GP surgeries and community based locations (e.g. we run Wellbeing Courses at Tescos in Lichfield) as well as at Trust bases in Tamworth and Lichfield.
We are not an emergency or crisis service.
If you currently feel that you or someone close to you is at risk of harm, please ring our Single Point of Access on 0300 5555001.
Alternatively you can contact your GP or your local Accident and Emergency Department.
Who is it for?
Our service can help people aged 16 or over, who are experiencing common mild to moderate mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) & trauma.
We are not an urgent or crisis service and if you feel you are currently at risk – please ring the Single Point of Access on 0300 5555001.
How do we help?
Once you have completed your assessment, we will discuss therapy options with you, from:
- Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Self-management exercises
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (short and medium term)
- Psycho-educational courses on depression, anxiety, mindfulness and wellbeing
- Interpersonal psychotherapy
Therapy can be carried out over the telephone or face to face.
If we agree together that our service is not the right way forwards for you, we will help you find another service or activity that will meet your needs.
The referral process
Anyone over the age of 16 who is registered to a GP in Tamworth, Lichfield or Burntwood can refer by ringing our self-referral number (0300 123 0923, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) to arrange an initial discussion with one of our clinical staff, this is usually by telephone. This will help us understand some of the problems you have been experiencing and discuss what we can offer.
If our service is likely to help, we will then arrange a full assessment appointment with you to decide on the most appropriate treatment for you. Our flexible approaches to the delivery of these treatments (in groups, by telephone, online or face to face) will allow us to find the best package to suit you and your needs as quickly as possible.
